Journey through the Book of Romans

Paul Summarizes the Love of God to and for His Children Part 2
Romans 8:33-34 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. NKJV

Paul having now acknowledged the fact that all things are ours in Christ Jesus our Lord, he ask and answers another question to bring about even greater assurance and the rock solid acceptance in Christ to our hearts that is ours and  was ours before we were ever even born into the world. Paul is here with this question exalting the Sovereignty and the Supreme Power of our Heavenly Father who answers to no one or nothing for His actions carried out upon this His earth for His glory as He here proclaims through the Prophet Isaiah, Isaiah 44:6-8 “Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God. And who can proclaim as I do? Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me, Since I appointed the ancient people. And the things that are coming and shall come, Let them show these to them. Do not fear, nor be afraid; Have I not told you from that time, and declared it? You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one.’” NKJV There is nothing or no one under heaven anywhere in all of our Father’s Universe that can bring anything to our account (Romans 4:8) for it is continually washed clean by the blood of the Lamb (1 Peter 1:17-19), nor can we be called into question about our motives and intentions as we walk with our Lord Jesus Christ as His learner, pupil, and student (1 Corinthians 4:3-5). We are His Elect sons and daughters. Will this truth cause us to live in the gratification of our lower fleshly, earthly, temporal, and sensual desires pleasing our 5 senses?
As Paul has said himself so many times in this epistle and as I soundly say along with him, “God Forbid” that we should drag the Name of our Father in the mud and mar His Holy and Precious Name among those who are still dead in their trespasses and sins. Who would want to have my life in Christ, if such a life were no different in desires and indulgences than the life the sinner is currently living? The fact that no one can bring any charge against us does not then free us up to live as we please (Galatians 5:13). Just as God the Father chose one man Abraham and through him was born the Nation Israel Sovereignly chosen by Him to be His Elect Son, so have you and I been chosen (not because we deserved it (Titus 3:5)) and made holy by what our Lord Jesus Christ has done on the Cross and in our hearts through regeneration and new birth. For all of our sin, weakness, and infirmity is committed against our Father in Heaven alone and it is He who has justified each one of us His Elect and buried all of our transgressions in the deepest ocean and removed them from us (Psalms 103:12). It is because of our great love for Him that we confess and forsake our sins to Him that we may continue to enjoy intimate fellowship with Him as He cleanses us (Proverbs 28:13 & 1 John 1:9).

It is my Lord, Master, and Savior Jesus Christ that has died taking my sin into Himself and justifies me freely with and by His Grace given to me as the agent, administrator, and action bringing about my salvation from my sin (Romans 3:24 & 1 Peter 2:24). It is our Lord’s Resurrection from the dead that seals, submits, and secures our justification from our sin and it is by virtue of His Resurrection that we are made new creatures in Him given resurrection life as we continue to live and move and have our being in Him. Every accusation brought before my Heavenly Father against me by my accuser and yours our adversary the devil is rebuffed and rebuked by our Lord Jesus Christ as He Sits at our Father’s Right Hand on His throne of Grace declaring us innocent of all charges (1 John 2:1) and banishing the accuser back to his exiled position here on the earth as he (the devil) waits for his permanent banishment into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:10). In these two verses from the pen of the Apostle Paul we find another one of many assurances to God’s Elect sons and daughters of our eternal security. There is no way that I or any true regenerated born again child of God can ever be lost, therefore, we can rest in the words spoken by our Lord Jesus Christ when He said, John 6:37-39 “All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.” NKJV
Isaiah 50:8-9 He is near who justifies Me; Who will contend with Me? Let us stand together. Who is My adversary? Let him come near Me. Surely the Lord GOD will help Me; Who is he who will condemn Me? Indeed they will all grow old like a garment; The moth will eat them up. NKJV

“Night and day I pondered until I saw the connection between the justice of God and the statement that ‘the just shall live by his faith.’ Then I grasped that the justice of God is that righteousness by which through grace and sheer mercy God justifies us through faith. Thereupon I felt myself to be reborn and to have gone through open doors into paradise.” Martin Luther
“Keep your eye simply on Him; let His death, His sufferings, His merits, His glories, His intercession, be fresh upon thy mind; when you wake in the morning look to Him; when thou lie down at night look to Him. Oh! let not your hopes or fears come between thee and Jesus; follow hard after Him, and He will never fail you.” Charles Spurgeon

“The one true Church is composed of all believers in the Lord Jesus. It is made up of all God’s elect - of all converted men and women - of all true Christians. In whomever we can discern the election of God the Father, the sprinkling of the blood of God the Son, the sanctifying work of God the Spirit, in that person we see a member of Christ’s true church.” J. C. Ryle
“I am not only God the Father’s Elect son and saved from all of my sins, but I am also set apart as His beloved son being continually sanctified by God the Holy Spirit and I am eternally secure in what God the Son did for me on Calvary.” Clifford D. Tate, Sr.

If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ and His amazing healing power, pray this from your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ (you speaking directly to Him), Dear Lord Jesus, I confess to You that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe You shed Your Blood and died for my sins. I believe that You rose from the dead proving that You alone are God. I repent of my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I ask You Dear Lord Jesus to come into my heart and take control of my life. I want You to be my Lord, Savior, and my God. Amen...

Sincerely in Christ,
