Journey through the Book of Romans

Paul unfold God’s Wrath on Man’s Sin Part 3
Romans 1:26-28 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting. NKJV

Everything that God created was created to worship Him. Worship is what we human beings were created for and we all will worship something or someone. We were created by God to worship and serve Him in the beauty of holiness (Psalm 29:2 & Psalm 96:9). However, we discovered the last time that since Adam’s sin in the Garden of Eden, man has gravitated to the lie of satan and ran after the worship of things and people to the satisfying of the sensual desires of the flesh. We see in the Scripture at the end of Genesis Chapter 1 that God said of everything He created was good (Genesis 1:31). In everything God created that was good, it included the man and woman Adam and Eve and God said to them, Genesis 1:28 “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” NKJV So we see from the very beginning God designed these two human beings different so that they would come together in sexual relationship become one flesh and fill the earth with more human beings that would grow up to worship God just as Adam and Eve.
Here is an excerpt from the book written through me by my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: “In the beginning, God created us man and woman and said to us “be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” God meant for us to have a fulfilling sexual life in the divinely-ordained confines of marriage between a husband and a wife with Him as a partner in the marriage. God provided marriage as the appropriate context for sexual fulfillment and the oneness necessary for emotional satisfaction. Our sexuality was designed to be exercised in the context of holiness and faithfulness. In His Word God has given us thorough guidelines for how we are to behave sexually. God has affirmed sex as a source of pleasure and shared intimacy between the husband (man) and the wife (woman) primarily for the procreation of the human race. The sexual union between husband and wife is at all times pleasing to God, for it was His creative design from the beginning. God created us in His image, which means that we are spiritual beings and only clothed with this physical body for habitation upon the earth.”

We left the 1st Chapter of Romans the last time as Paul documented for us how the people during the days of Noah (and it is still occurring today) exchanged the truth of God for the lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator. The phrase “the truth of God” is a Hebrew phrase, meaning “the true God.” Paul is telling us that the people during Noah’s day ran away from the true God displayed all around them in creation and written in their hearts/minds by their consciences and turned to worship the host of heaven (sorcery, witchcraft, and astrology (Exodus 7:11 & 2 Timothy 3:8)) which is the satanic lie, counterfeit, and false worship. In every generation of humanity many people have gone after the lie rather than the truth because the lie allows all manner of sinful, sensual, and sadistic sexual behaviors to be practiced as normal and even dressed up as the will of God. Listen to what the Lord through the Prophet Jeremiah said to the people of Israel, Jeremiah 13:23-27 Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots? Then may you also do good who are accustomed to do evil. “Therefore I will scatter them like stubble that passes away by the wind of the wilderness. This is your lot, the portion of your measures from Me,” says the LORD, “Because you have forgotten Me And trusted in falsehood. Therefore I will uncover your skirts over your face, that your shame may appear. I have seen your adulteries and your lustful neighings, the lewdness of your harlotry, your abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! Will you still not be made clean?” NKJV
Because those during the days of Noah, and the people of Jerusalem, and the people of every generation (especially today) wanted not the true God (YAHWEH) but wanted and still today many want the lie therefore, God gave them up or over to the indignant, disgraceful, dishonorable, shameful, and vile passions or lust as a current judgment on and against them for turning away their hearts from the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12). Although in our American society today the statistics show only around 2-5% (these stats are probably higher) of the American population partakes in homosexuality, it has become such a hot button issue that if any person stands up and declares what God says about this one sin, he or she is labeled an intolerant narrow minded bigot who hates and does not love the people separated from God by this sin (Leviticus 18:22). The reality is just the opposite of that way of thinking because those on the talk shows, in congress, state and local Governments that participate in any way to make the sin of homosexuality a legal right for people and acceptable before mankind and God as the will of God or the love of God demonstrated to these people, those are the un-loving people who block these people from receiving the true God Jesus Christ and His love for them demonstrated at Calvary which by His grace through faith will free them from this sin here and now and for all eternity (Amen).

Paul uses a very strong word for what God does by giving people over to such a mind that would not see or consider such un-natural sexual behavior as wrong. The English word Paul uses is reprobate (Titus 1:16) and this word comes from the Greek word adokimos which means un-approved, rejected, and worthless (literally and morally). In other words, God gives over to everyone that turns away from Him in their hearts to a mind (in thoughts, feelings or emotions, and will) that is morally un-approved, morally rejected, and morally worthless in His sight (Jeremiah 6:30 & 1 Timothy 4:1-3). This is frightening because when we listen to the majority of people around the world speak about this issue of homosexuality we hear the word tolerance used most frequently along with love that enables the homosexual to continue in his or her lifestyle with no worry of judgment here and now or in the life to come after death (Jude 1:7). This is clearly, surely, and certainly the enemies lie wrapped up in a sweet, savory, and soft bow leading not only the practicing homosexuals to hell (1 Corinthians 6:9), but as we will discover the next time (Part 4) those who support this sin and vote it into legality are also guilty of taking pleasure in them that practice that evil as well as many other evil desires that come out of the human heart.
“Concerning homosexuality: This once brought hell out of heaven on Sodom” Charles H. Spurgeon

“Nothing humbles and breaks the heart of a sinner like mercy and love. Souls that converse much with sin and wrath, may be much terrified; but souls that converse much with grace and mercy, will be much humbled.” Thomas Brooks 1608-1680
“AIDS is not just God’s punishment for homosexuals; it is God’s punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals.” Jerry Falwell

“God is not content to leave all people under His wrath. Nor can he simply sweep sin under the rug of the universe. Therefore His love and His justice conspire to make a way for sinners to be saved and God’s justice to be vindicated. The answer is the death of Jesus Christ.” John Piper
“Mercy should make us ashamed, wrath afraid to sin.” William Gurnall

“Here is why all the central truths of the gospel focus on the cross: It reveals how heinous our sin is. It shows the intensity of God’s wrath against sin. It reveals the great love of God in paying such a high price for redemption. But it also serves as a fitting metaphor for the cost of following Christ. Jesus Himself spoke repeatedly of the cross in those terms.” John MacArthur
“The law works fear and wrath; grace works hope and mercy.” Martin Luther

“Mr. Osteen can be assured that his weak and evasive non-answer to this reporter’s question will put him at very little risk for arrest. But then, pandering prophets are rarely at much of a risk from the public anyway. There was no conviction in his answer; no clear declaration of biblical truth; no Gospel, no judgment, and no promise. Just a non-answer with a smile. Pathetic . . . simply pathetic. (regarding Osteen’s failure to declare homosexuality as sin)” Albert Mohler
If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ and His amazing healing power, pray this from your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ (you speaking directly to Him), Dear Lord Jesus, I confess to You that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe You shed Your Blood and died for my sins. I believe that You rose from the dead proving that You alone are God. I repent of my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I ask You Dear Lord Jesus to come into my heart and take control of my life. I want You to be my Lord, Savior, and my God. Amen...

Sincerely in Christ,
