Journey through the Book of Romans

Paul declares God will Judge every Person Part 2
Romans 2:5-6 But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who “will render to each one according to his deeds.” NKJV

Paul continues his warning to all sinful humanity of God’s Righteous Judgment that each one of us will receive, and not one person that has ever lived will escape it. I had heard of the extensive interview of the late Michael Jackson done by now MSNBC news correspondent Martin Bashir but I did not see the interview. I grew up listening to the music of Michael Jackson and his brothers back during my Elementary School days. They were widely known then as the Jackson 5. I have read many things written by others about Michael Jackson documenting some of the seemingly odd purchases he made during various times in his adult life. However, when I saw a clip of the Martin Bashir interview with him and Mr. Bashir asked him about a coffin or tomb used to bury one of Egypt’s Pharaohs in and if he wanted to be buried in such a tomb or coffin when he died and Michael Jackson turned to him and said, “No I don’t want to be buried in this or any other type of coffin because I would like to live forever.” (see it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOxSAnnoI3E).

Wow! I must say that I knew the man was odd but I never would have imagined he thought he could or would be the person to escape death, but he did think that and unfortunately many people feel if they do not think about their death then somehow by magic it will never come. I assure all that no amount, form, or type of magic spells, potions, incantations, or any other satanic ritual will ward off death from coming to any person. Michael Jackson died and immediately stood in the presence of my Lord, Master, and Savior Jesus Christ and none of his earthly popularity, wealth, or influence meant anything at that final moment for him. If Michael Jackson was not born again (John 3:3 & John 3:5) he is right now at this very present moment that you are reading these words in hell. He is not in a better place unless he knew Jesus Christ personally through repentance of sin and faith in Him being regenerated and born again (Proverbs 11:4).

The overriding theme of this entire Chapter 2 of Romans being delivered by the Apostle Paul is God’s Impartial True and Righteous Judgment to every person, no matter whom you are or who you think you are or who others think you are. God knows the truth about every one of us and His Judgment will be rendered accordingly (Job 21:30 & Galatians 6:7-8). Paul wants to enlighten sinful humanity who somehow think that their must not be any eternal judgment to come because the many acts of sinful rebellion done by them presently in this life have not received any judgment. Paul immediately wants to squash that false theory or thinking that might permeate the mind of a hypocrite, a new ager, a cultist, a witch, a wizard, a goat, a Mormon, a Jew, a Jehovah’s Witness, an atheist, a Hindu, a Buddhist, a Muslim, and any other type or form of false worship by assuring them that God has the most highly intelligence service and the most sophisticated surveillance equipment and techniques in all the Universe. He sees the heart/inner man of every person that is living and those that have ever lived including every thought, motive, and action (Matthew 9:3-4 & Hebrews 4:13).
What the hypocrite and all the others listed above are doing is just making an eternal deposit daily into an account with their individual names of un-repented of sin that is not under the Blood of the Lamb, the Blood of Jesus Christ my Lord (Revelation 6:12-17). God’s mercy to sinful humanity is bathed in longsuffering and this is exactly why our Lord Jesus Christ has not yet come back to this earth because He must and He will reward every soul according to their works. We must quickly clarify because what Paul is saying will be and has been in the past miss-interpreted by so many as Paul teaching that people can be good enough to earn God’s forgiveness. Paul is not teaching that at all because he was a man that spent his entire childhood and his adult Jewish life doing just that trying to earn God’s favor or forgiveness by what he did and did not do.

Paul is going to emphatically drive this point home in Chapter 3 of this Book of Romans, but what he is now doing is making everyone aware that God knows all of humanity (not just the Jews) and will give each man, woman, boy, and girl the result of their hard hearts in sin and their refusal to turn from that sin in repentance and have it covered under the Blood of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:7). Paul is in no way advocating that somehow a sinful person can be good enough or live a good enough life to earn heaven from God. All who come to our Lord Jesus Christ broken over their sin in repentance and faith are born again and have all of their sins covered by His Blood, but the soul of every man that rejects, refuses, or resist this only way of forgiveness will be judged by his own sinful works or deeds no matter how good they appeared to be to him or others they will be like a pile of dung and filthy tampons in God’s Sight (2 Peter 2:9).
Proverbs 24:12 If you say, “Surely we did not know this,” Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds? NKJV

Jeremiah 32:19 You are great in counsel and mighty in work, for Your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.
Matthew 16:24-27 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.” NKJV

Revelation 20:11-15 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. NKJV
“Holiness is the habit of being of one mind with God, according as we find His mind described in Scripture. It is the habit of agreeing in God’s judgment, hating what He hates, loving what He loves, and measuring everything in this world by the standard of His Word.” J. C. Ryle 1816-1900

“The day of judgment will be a day when the skeletons come out of the closets! And each of us will be standing there to face the record.” Dr. Adrian Rogers
“Faith has in it the recognition of the certainty and the justice of a judgment that is coming down crashing on every human head; and then from the midst of these fears and sorrows and the tempest of that great darkness there rises up in the night of terrors the shining of one perhaps pale, quivering, distant, but divinely given hope, "My Saviour! My Saviour! He is righteous; He has died; He lives! I will stay no longer; I will cast myself upon Him!” Alexander MacLaren

“The most tremendous judgment of God in this world is the hardening of the hearts of men.” John Owen 1616-1683
If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ and His amazing healing power, pray this from your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ (you speaking directly to Him), Dear Lord Jesus, I confess to You that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe You shed Your Blood and died for my sins. I believe that You rose from the dead proving that You alone are God. I repent of my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I ask You Dear Lord Jesus to come into my heart and take control of my life. I want You to be my Lord, Savior, and my God. Amen...

Sincerely in Christ,
