John
13:31-32 So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the
Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him. If God is glorified in
Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately.” NKJV
Question: What was the reason our Lord Jesus Christ
came to this earth? If you answered to die on the cross for man’s sin you would
be absolutely correct. However, the other reason our Lord was manifested in the
flesh was to Glorify God the Father on the earth before all other human beings
and the entire heavenly host (the holy angels) and all of the fallen angels.
You see when God created the first man Adam he dishonored God the Father before
all of His other creation and Adam’s dishonor and rebellion handed the dominion
and rule of the earth realm to the devil and his fallen angels. Therefore, God
the Father needed the Second Man (Jesus Christ) to live the life Adam should
have lived and then in dying He (the Lord Jesus) would take back the dominion
and rule over the earth realm and return it to every man that comes under His
authority through regeneration and new birth. The true Church (the invisible
body of believers) spread out all over the earth is no longer under satan’s
rule. Therefore, as our Lord Jesus Christ primary priority was to do the will
of the Father who sent Him to the earth, then so it should be all of the truly
redeemed saints scattered over the earth to do the will of our Commander in
Chief our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul said, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 “Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man
does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his
own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who
is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were
bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which
are God’s. NKJV The Apostle wrote these words to the Corinthian Church yes
but it is written to every true believer in Jesus Christ to warn us and remind
us who we are and who’s we are so that our life would not be a reproach to our
Lord Jesus Christ but that it would honor Him. The life we live now in this
tent, house, flesh, or body no longer belongs to us to be used for the things
of old that gratified our sinful nature, but it is now for us to surrender to
our Lord Jesus that He may show through us to a lost and dead in trespasses and
sins world that He alone is the healer of the souls of men. Our Lord was so
driven by the Father’s will that when His disciples came to Him concerned
whether or not He had eaten food He said, John 4:34 “My food is to do the will of Him
who sent Me, and to finish His work.” NKJV
Our Lord had so humbled Himself that He became
completely submissive to the Father even though in reality He was equal with
the Father in every aspect. The Father’s will was paramount and at the
forefront of everything He said to people, did for people, and did for Himself.
Likewise we His disciples must not be swayed by the popular brand of
Christianity that fears offending everyone and therefore, proclaim a weak and
inerrant gospel that has no power in it at all and only sedates people into believing
they are safe or saved when the dominant fruit produced in their daily lives is
unrighteousness. The narrow road walked by our Lord Jesus is not the popular
road of transportation for the trip to heaven but the wide road (that overlooks
sin and the indulgence of the flesh) is the more preferred route for the majority
it appears in every generation. Love that is permissive of all things whether
they are good or evil is not love at all. Our Lord Jesus loved the Father and
the Father loved Him and each gave to one another what would bring honor and
glory to each other and not anything that would reproach. We as our Lord’s
disciples should be so in love with Him and grateful for Him saving us from our
sins and bringing us into union with Him that we should freely take every
hostile word or action from the lost world with joy knowing that they can see
Jesus Christ in us and the light of His transforming life radiating from us
daily.
The Apostle John was so awe struck and at a loss for
words about becoming a son of God that he wrote this, 1 John 3:1-3 “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us,
that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us,
because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has
not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed,
we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this
hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” NKJV Don’t each one of
us understand exactly what poured out of the heart of the Apostle John in this
passage of Scripture, even if we would have never read these words he wrote we
all know the meaning of them in our own hearts personally and have experienced
that manner of love. We disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ yearn for, long for,
and pant after His Resurrection life given to us to dominate our every thought
and actions (Psalm 42:1). As our
Lord Jesus came from heaven and the bosom of the Father in order to bring honor
and glory to His Name on the earth and among the holy angels and the evil
demons, so must we as Christ disciples spread the fragrant aroma of His love,
purity, joy, peace, righteousness, holiness, and glory everywhere we go that
all who encounter us may know that through Christ we are different people that
live uprightly by His grace and because we love Him (Psalm 84:11).
Psalms
22:23 You who fear the LORD, praise Him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify
Him, And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel! NKJV
Psalms
86:10-12 For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are
God. Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to
fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will
glorify Your name forevermore. NKJV
“Christ declares his Father’s name to believers,
that with that Divine light darted into their minds a Divine love may be shed
abroad in their hearts, to be in them a commanding constraining principle of
holiness, that they may partake of a Divine nature. When God’s love to us comes
to be in us, it is like the virtue which the loadstone gives the needle,
inclining it to move towards the pole; it draws out the soul towards God in
pious and devout affections, which are as the spirits of the Divine life in the
soul. Secondly, ‘Let them have the taste and relish of that love for
their consolation; let them not only be interested in the love of God, by
having God’s name declared to them, but, by a further declaration of it, let
them have the comfort of that interest; that they may not only know God, but know
that they know Him,’ (1John_2:3).
It is the love of God thus shed abroad in the heart that fills it
with joy, (Romans 5:3), (Romans 5:5). This God has provided for,
that we may not only be satisfied with his loving kindness, but be satisfied of
it; and so may live a life of complacency in God and communion with Him; this
we must pray for, this we must press after; if we have it, we must thank Christ
for it; if we want it, we may thank ourselves.” Mathew Henry
If
you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ and His amazing healing power, pray this
from your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ (you speaking directly to Him), Dear
Lord Jesus, I confess to You that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I
believe You shed Your Blood and died for my sins. I believe that You rose from
the dead proving that You alone are God. I repent of my sins. I want to turn
from my sins. I ask You Dear Lord Jesus to come into my heart and take control
of my life. I want You to be my Lord, Savior, and my God. Amen...
Sincerely in Christ,
