Who does the Father draw to the Son?

John 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. NKJV

These words from our Lord Jesus Christ proclaim firmly the doctrine of Election before He ever gave it to the Apostle Paul and the other Apostles. It is clear from His statement here that no person can ever be saved eternally by having their sins forgiven and receiving a new nature to make them fit for Heaven to be in the presence of the Father without coming to Him. He also clearly states that no one of their own free will or choice can come to Him. This idea of making a decision for Christ is foreign to the Scripture and it appears to come from man’s religious efforts. People in every corner of the globe are doing so many weird, disturbing, dangerous but also good things in an attempt to get themselves to God and be accepted by Him. Our Lord says that God the Father must “draw” every soul to Himself (the Son of God). What is meant by our Lord from this English word “draw” in the original Greek language? The Greek word translated “draw” is helkuo, helko which means; to take for one ’s self, to prefer, to choose, to drag or drag forth.

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. NKJV

How must we reconcile God the Father preferring, choosing, drawing, and dragging a soul to the cross of Christ with, “whosoever will let him come and drink of the water of life freely”. I believe God (by the conscience given to all people) has placed in everyone the will to live and the knowledge of right and wrong and by that conscience calls everyone to the cross of Christ John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. NKJV  The person has to will or desire to be saved before God the Father draws them with the effectual call that is reserved for all the elect (those who the Father foreknew that truly would desire to be saved). God is Omniscient and sees the beginning, middle, and end all at the same time, therefore, by His foreknowledge; He already knows all of the saved from the first person to the last person born on earth prior to Christ 2nd coming to judge the world in righteousness.

Until a person is completely broken over and from their sin and fed up with their sin and all that sin represents, he or she will not be drawn to Christ, but will be allowed to follow after his or her own idea of God and/or spirituality. This is the wide broad road of man-made religion, idolatry (creating a god that suits the way you want to live), and satanic inspired spirituality (white or black witchcraft, sorcery, voodoo, wiccan, etc.) that appear to lead to God or is spiritual but instead will end in destruction/hell. On that road is much activity (helping the poor, social reform, advocate of laws to make people equal and make them better to each other, improving education for kids, etc.) that appeases the conscience temporarily. However, that broad road has no Christ as Lord nor is any of those “good deeds” for Christ Glory and Honor and subsequently the moral law of God (that Jesus Christ fulfilled by His sinless life, death, burial, and resurrection) is manipulated to suit the desires of the deceitful and desperately wicked hearts of men and women. Therefore, those still in the world that are not saved and are not drawn to the cross of Christ truly is because they will not to be saved (not because the Father does not want to draw them). Matthew 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! NKJV The Father desires all men and women to be saved (2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. NKJV),  but He draws only those who will to be saved and delivered from sin and its guilt and shame and all of sins gripping dominion in their hearts and lives.

John 6:37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. NKJV

John 6:39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. NKJV

“The nature of Christ's salvation is woefully misrepresented by the present-day evangelist. He announces a Savior from hell rather than a Savior from sin. And that is why so many are fatally deceived, for there are multitudes who wish to escape the Lake of fire who have no desire to be delivered from their carnality and worldliness.” A. W. Pink

“Salvation is from our side a choice, from the Divine side it is a seizing upon, an apprehending, a conquest by the Most High God. Our "accepting" and "willing" are reactions rather than actions. The right of determination must always remain with God.” A. W. Tozer

“From the Word of God I gather that damnation is all of man, from top to bottom, and salvation is all of grace, from first to last. He that perishes chooses to perish; but he that is saved is saved because God has chosen to save him.” Charles H. Spurgeon

“The grace of God hath power to bring salvation to all men, and if a man is unsaved it is because he wants to work it out; he wants to receive salvation in some other way than God's way; but we are told that "he that climbeth up another way, the same is a thief and a robber." A great many people want to bring their faith, their works, their good deeds to Him for salvation. Bring your sins, and He will bear them away into the wilderness of forgetfulness, and you will never see them again.” D. L. Moody
